Music for the Soul
I use my training as a classical pianist and performer, my lifelong engagement with meditation and the journey to inner self that has been influenced by the work of C.G. Jung, mystics and seekers of all spiritual disciplines, as well as my deep connection since a very small child with the natural world, to work intuitively, creating improvisations designed to connect to our deeper self, our Soul. I offer my work for retreats, small private groups, particularly women's groups, in hospitals and hospices. If you would like to chat about my work, please use the contact form below to get in touch. Below are links to Music for the Soul pieces.

Pianist

I hold an ALCM diploma in piano performance having studied with Professor Emile Philippe from the Guildhall School of Music. Following my diploma, I returned to study further with Professor Philippe to raise the standard of my piano playing to a higher level. Following this further study, and on the recommendation of Professor Philippe, I gave many solo piano recitals across East Anglia. including King of Hearts, Norwich, The University of East Anglia, Open University and many churches around the Uk, including Dedham Church as well as working as an accompanist for choral societies and instrumentalists for performance and exams.
I now focus my playing primarily on Music for the Soul (see above) in health and healing settings such as retreats or well-being environments such as Artslink, www.ouh.nhs.uk/artlink and Katherine House Hospice, Adderbury, Oxon.
Please get in touch to discuss further.
Poet

I write most days, inspired by the natural world and the world around me. Follow the link to read one of my published poem: https://www.greeninkpoetry.co.uk. I have also been published in The Amphibian.
Teacher

Piano Lessons
I have over twenty years experience of teaching piano to students of all ages and abilities. From students as young as four years old to those mature students who are often returning after many years' break. At whatever level a person comes for lessons, I aim to encourage the development of musicianship, good technique, exploration of many genres of music and opportunities to take exams or perform publicly at festivals if that is appropriate - all in the context of enjoyment!
I can prepare students to take exams through either ABRSM or Trinity Laban exam boards for Grades 1-8. I also coach students for GCSE and ‘A’ level performance and composition. I offer Grade 5 theory exam preparation. I am a member of the European Piano Teachers' Association.
This is an example of a piece I wrote with students in mind.

Works

A selection of other works:
Persephone
Orchestral Tone Poem
The struggles of the feminine to emerge from darkness is a theme that recurs and I believe is a particularly insistent theme in our times. I have great respect for the work of C G Jung and in part, this work was inspired by some of his ideas on integration of darkness and light in our own psyches and balance of the feminine and masculine elements of the self.
Orchestral Tone Poem
The title of the piece is taken from Tolkein's Lord of the Rings.
Clarinet Quintet

For ‘Cello and Piano

Easter Morning (Piano)
Sunrise (Piano)
Inspired by the works of Chopin, this piece is a homage to his Study in C# Minor Op.25 No. 12..
